Where things get interesting is with the RAM. The RTX 3060 Ti comes equipped with 8GB of 256-bit GDDR6 RAM, only NVIDIA decided to bump up the RAM to 12GB in the 3060 just it'south restricted to 192-scrap, resulting in a speed of 360GB/s. It's strange in that no game is actually going to take advantage of that additional 4GB of retention if the performance isn't there to back it up.
The case from NVIDIA for the RTX 3060 is a direct replacement to the GTX 1060 (too as the GTX 1660 SUPER) and that's only where it makes sense. If you're upgrading from a last-gen GPU and need something to game at 1080p at decent settings, the RTX 3060 will practice the job just fine. It becomes hard to recommend the RTX 3060 to anyone else.
