How To Become An Animator At Washu

Tenchi Muyô! (TV Series 1992– ) Poster

The Japanese gift to America: anime

I used to not sympathize anime at all. Afterwards sitting through another anime tv show, I grew to similar it, enjoy it, and now love it. And "Tenchi Muyo" is, aside from "Slayers", my favorite anime television.

Starting time of all, there are so many different characters with which to fall in love with. From the sexy infinite pirate Ryoko, to the precious infinite princesses Ayeka and Sasami, to the vapid Mihoshi (and her companion Kiyone, who I haven't seen still since I'm simply on the OVA serial) to the cute scientific genius Washu. And it all revolves effectually Tenchi.

Secondly, it has a wonderful music score. From the rousing opening theme, to the little groundwork music throughout (especially Ayeka'southward theme), to the catastrophe credit music, information technology is well conducted, specially for an anime, where music is ordinarily conducted by cheesemakers.

Finally, the plots are well washed. Aside from the divergence between Tenchi Universe and the OVA series, the plots are well-sculpted, well adult, and have a proper blend of action and humour. The biggest problem with anime today is it's lack of humor, which Tenchi Muyo will merely not permit.

I thank the nameless station which has actually begun to air this wonderful serial. And as for y'all "Tenchi Muyo", all we can exercise is bow, oh great respected i.

A classic anime series

cpm6 fourteen December 2000

"Tenchi Muyo" is i of the best anime OAVs-original blithe videos-to debut in the 90s, and like any successful show, has spawned a legion of copycats. The prove deals with young Tenchi Misaki, a high schoolhouse boy who does chores and trains under his grandfather, a Shinto priest. Against his Grandfather's volition, immature Tenchi opens a sacred shrine. This sets of a chain reaction of events that make Tenchi the host to a group of alien women-Ryoko, feisty space pirate; Ayeka and Sasami, princesses from the planet Jurai; Mihohshi, a ditzy space cop, Washu, a genius and Ryoko's female parent; and too Ry-Oh-oki, a true cat/rabbit fauna which can transform into a spaceship or a young girl. Of grade, there'south a reason why all these girls arrive, and this forms an interesting subplot. The animation and sound is acme-notch-the concluding being obvious, since this series is partially funded by Pioneer.

The best Tenchi, and my favorite anime.

Amazing. Tenchi Muyo! is quite simply, one of the all-time anime out there (in my opinion, THE all-time). Why is this? It's certainly not because of the plot, which is full of holes (try to figure out the characters ages will lead you down a path to madness), it is currently incomplete (although the third OAV is on the style!), and there are certainly a lot of other flaws that I could pick out, simply this is the kind of story in which you get so wrapped up in, you don't fifty-fifty notice any of the bug. Information technology's the characters that actually make this show. There is a surprising amount of depth here one time you become past the terminally light tone of the show. The fact is, however, Tenchi Muyo! is incredibly touching.

Basically the plot is most 17-year-old Tenchi Masaki, a young man with hidden powers who of a sudden finds himself surrounded by beautiful women from all over the universe who are all in love with him! In that location'south Ayeka, the reserved dignified Juraian princess (and her younger sister Sasami, Mihoshi the clutzy Galaxy Space Officer, Little Washu, the genius scientist, and of course Ryoko, the demon infinite pirate who is released from a 700 year imprisonment past Tenchi which starts the whole saga rolling. One of the shows virtues is that Tenchi never even tries to determine, and the group becomes like a family with a mutual involvement... The grapheme of Ryoko is what really meant the difference to me, a 2000-year-old demon who is somewhat roughshod and violent, but is truly humanized in her beloved for Tenchi. I couldn't help but root for her, and the scene in episode five where she remembers watching Tenchi abound up is truly touching. I won't really go into any plot cause that's not really the indicate. You get into this testify because its lite, funny, and touching.

I can't recommend it plenty.

Expert , simply a few adjustments would make this a classic.

With its active imagination and bright coulors , its easy to see why tenchi muyo is a house favourite to many fans of Japanese blitheness . However , simply because the adventures of tenchi and co are appreciated by many , that doesn't make it the best series you lot'll run into. This isn't to say that tenchi muyo is bad , simply it is to say that there are a lot of things wrong with it. Wrong things such as information technology existence unoriginal : tenchi muyo borrows .. in fact , no STEALS ideas from star wars , urusei yatsura and sailor moon just to proper name a few. Another one of the shows negative factors is that it constantly moves from being sci-fi to a slapstick one-act to a romantic drama to an action drama , all very quickly , making the testify feel uneven . Oh , and speaking of uneven , tenchi muyo doesn't keep the aforementioned pace throughout , resulting in a show that tin be heart stopping and exciting some times , and just plainly slow the adjacent. And while we are on the subject of the shows bad points , ive got to say that the thinly veiled sexism that creeps up in the testify is something that nosotros could have done with out.

Wow . With all these bad points , it sounds like I hate tenchi muyo , doesn't it ? Well I don't , I retrieve its very solid and its good qualities are very strong . One good quality is that from a visual stand signal , tenchi muyo looks great - the animators and character designers manage to strike a good residual between cuteness and complex realism . Another strong point is that when the show is funny , it can get really funny , merely like how it can get damn exciting when it puts its action gloves on , suggesting that being a straight action one-act would take definitely been the best way frontwards for tenchi muyo. But higher up everything the best thing about tenchi is hands its characters , something that any tenchi fan tin agree with me on. From the destructive but sensitive Ryoko , to the eccentric Washu , the characters are developed and used well enough for you to care for them when any affair happens to them. And having characters that you tin get behind and experience for is important in any story , anime or otherwise.

So in conclusion , it must be said that tenchi muyo has a lot flaws but still comes out every bit an intelligent and entertaining testify that's definitely fashion above average . Simply if it focused entirely on action and comedy (its all-time assets) whilst still paying attending to graphic symbol and plot then we'd be looking at a archetype.

No Need For Bad Reviews! :)

Tenchi Masaki is your average schoolhouse boy who lives with his gramps, who is a Shinto Priest, and his father. His mom died when he was a young boy, and his grandfather is teaching him how to be like him. One day, something falls from the heaven and arrives on Earth. It's the infamous Space Pirate, Ryoko. Once Ryoko is welcome into the Masaki home, she finds herself in love with Tenchi. Soon, other girls from outer space joins in the fun...taking Tenchi on the ride of his life!

Too Ryoko, Tenchi is joined by:

Ayeka - the crown princess of Juri who also finds herself attached to Tenchi and will practice annihilation to win his center abroad from Ryoko. Of class considering of this, she and Ryoko are e'er getting into cat fights! :)

Sasami - Ayeka's footling sister, who is too a princess. She is the youngest, however she finds herself being the nurturer of the household - doing all the house work and even cooking delicious meals for everyone.

Ryo-Oki - a cabbit (a rabbit who "meows" similar a kitty cat, simply LOVES carrots), who is the Masaki pet, merely also Ryoko's infinite ship. Ryo-Oki also institute a friend in Sasami, and a young man in Nagi'southward cabbit (forgot his name!!!).

Washu - the scientist who invents some of the worlds about craziest (i.e. Meca-Washu, who ended up existence similar Mihoshi) and sometimes dangerous invention (i.e. a device that could destroy an entire planet from the final episode "No Need For A Decision"). She is also said to be Ryoko's creator.

Kiyone - Galaxy Policewoman, who finds herself defenseless in a spider web of disaster thanks to her partner, Mihoshi.

Mihoshi - Kiyone'southward partner, who seems to accept an IQ of a bag of dirt and is always saved past pure luck. Information technology took her quite a few episodes to finally effigy out that Ryo-Oki was a girl. Not to mention, she is the reason why Meca-Washu was a bosom.

"Tenchi Universe" is the best of series I think. Plus, it has everything from lots of lots of laughs, a scrap of emotional tear jerking like when audiences learn about Tenchi'due south mom's decease ("No Demand For Memories"), and of course, love ("No Demand For Ryoko" and "No Need For Decision"). Then once again...there are a few things that Japan has that America doesn't - nudity when the girls are bathing in the bath house, a flake more than shed of blood, etc. Of course this is forbidden to be shown since it's on Drawing Networks "Toonami" hours, and America treats this stuff as the ultimate taboo!

Equally for Tenchi'due south feelings for Ryoko and Ayeka...I personally call back that Ryoko has truly won his heart. You can tell by the way Tenchi looks at her in the last couple of episodes, espeically when she embraces him in a forest of Blood-red Blossom trees, and they walk shut together holding hands with fiddling cabbit, Ryo-Oki, following. Too when she does all she tin to rescue Tenchi, who was tied upwardly in a coffin, from her arch-rival, bounty hunter, Nagi.

An enjoyable series FOR ALL ANIME FANS...particularly all-time when yous watch it in Japanese - thanks to the magic of DVD!!! :) No demand for bad reviews hither - "Tenchi Universe" is a true delight!!! :)

Tenchi In Tokyo - Monster Busters

Tenchi Masaki is going to Tokyo for school, which saddens his friends, specially space pirate Ryoko and Juri Princess Ayeka (who are both known for tying to win Tenchi'south beloved and affection). To brand matters await brighter, scientific genius Washu creates a Dimension that can take anyone from the Masaki habitation to Tenchi's apartment in Tokyo. Notwithstanding Tenchi seems like he wants nothing to exercise with any of them, specially Ryoko and Ayeka. In Tokyo, Tenchi becomes smitten with a young girl named Sakuya. Of grade, this greatly provokes aggressive fury from both Ryoko and Ayeka. Mysertiously, nonetheless, as Tenchi and Sakuya become closer, Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Kiyone, Mihoshi, and Washu are growing farther apart from each other. This once-close-knit family friendship is dying...and now in that location's another even greater mystery...and her proper name is Yugi.

"Tenchi In Tokyo", like the other ii serial, is funny and has witty humor in it. Not to mention, a few cat fights betwixt Ryoko and Ayeka, although in episodes like "The Eternal Pledge", the 2 squad up with each other to rescue Tenchi from odd creatures. And so of form, there is Kiyone and her ditzy sidekick, Mihoshi, who withal gets poor Kiyone defenseless upward in a web of disaster.

However, "Tenchi In Tokyo" lacks what the other series has featured and totally turned the whole idea plot effectually. For ane, when did Washu and Ryoko cease up existence a team in the showtime? In "Tenchi Universe", Ryoko landed on Earth alone, and Washu didn't come until after a few more episodes. Then of course, there's Ryo-Oki...in this series, he was with Sasami and Ayeka. In "Universe" he came subsequently Ryoko teased Tenchi about being pregnant with Tenchi's child after come into the kitchen with Ryo-Oki's egg. Then finally, there's Ayeka and Sasami. In this serial, Sasami was with Ayeka when she came to Earth, yet in "Universe", Ayeka came to Earth alone. Sasami came afterwards looking for Ayeka. Same goes for Mihoshi and Kiyone.

So, the whole entire plot has changed nearly in "Tenchi In Tokyo" which kind of ruined the whole entire "Tenchi" saga. Then there is the animation - non quite equally sharp as information technology is in "Universe" and in "Muyo!" if you lot inquire me. Also, it lacks feelings more. Like in "Universe" for example with the final episode, it finally reflected Tenchi's true feelings for both Ayeka and Ryoko, though his feelings for Ryoko seems more touching than Ayeka'southward. Not to mention, it shows fifty-fifty more in the "Zero" episodes from "Muyo!". "Tenchi In Tokyo" is more comedy than serious which is good...and their episodes aren't as emotionally tear-jerking like a few they have in the other two serial (i.e. "In that location's No Demand For Memories" or "There'south No Need For Ghosts" from "Tenchi Universe").

I do similar "Tenchi In Tokyo", and I can do without Sakuya 100% - who is perhaps the most annoying character to ever happen to Tenchi - also Haruna, simply give thanks God Haruna'south just from a picture show. "Tenchi In Tokyo" isn't every bit impressive as "Universe" and "Muyo!", but it'll do for "Tenchi" fans. At to the lowest degree, they didn't go out out the sense of humour and action and excitement it always has been known for! :)

A fine example of why many fanfics should never become a telly series

Warning: Spoilers

I watched this after the Tenchi Universe had ended, thinking the next serial was going to be groovy besides. After all,one good turn deserves another, right?Well,I'yard sorry to say this serial brought on nothing but grief. What did they practise to the characters? The story most Tenchi leaving to Tokyo for school was a pretty good commencement, but it begins to go wrong there. He is of a sudden treating Ryoko and Ayeka like crap, instead of treating them similar long fourth dimension friends. That especially includes the way he acted horribly toward Ryoko.Suddenly he was too practiced for them to be seen by his new friends. How did he become to exist such a snob and a jerk in this series? He wasn't nasty and mean in the earlier serial. He didn't even desire them visiting his dorm no more than.Funny,I remember him being somewhat smitten Ryoko in the Universe series. And so there's that chirpy, empty headed tramp written to the series to be Tenchi's girl, named Sakuya. She'southward a fine example of a Mary Sueism in many bad fanfics out there. She'due south an abrasive, encephalon dead, goody two shoes type with a shrieky vox and bug eyes.Tenchi's new friends push them to be together, and Sakuya was e'er dropping in unexpectedly for breakfast and lunch.Or she was making plans for them both to go somewhere, even though he barely knows her to do then.He couldn't say no or resist?Obviously she'south the fanfic writer's work, the writer being Sakuya. The writer is obviously a immature teenager who wishes she could exist with Tenchi, even though he really knows and likes Ryoko better.Sakuya is likewise perfect, likewise pretty and too well liked by the school to be believed.Obvious Mary Sueism mistakes, not to mention common ones in fanfics. At least Ayeka and Ryoko, hate her and aren't fooled past her charms in the same way.Likewise bad Sakuya is too dumb and blind to see why they hate her. If information technology wasn't students that were trying to push button them,it was the demons which should have been a dead giveaway to him and others.Speaking of demons, the monsters popping up in diverse places look horribly done. They await similar puppets, marionettes,or clay figures that were rotoscoped on,the upshot existence poor equally a outcome. They couldn't create better, scarier monsters?Whats with different objects like cellphones becoming monsters anyways? It's stupid.I thought the dating scene between Ryoko and Tenchi was botched up to make her look horrible and wrong for Tenchi, which in itself was incorrect. When Sakuya saw Tenchi and Ryoko together, and started crying she should accept stayed away. But she came back and pestered him like a lilliputian dog. When Ryoko saw her and Tenchi hold hands and osculation,it broke her heart.I felt then bad for her being treated like s#$% and all. It's likewise bad she and Ayeka didn't kick her sad, stupid @#$ before.I would've liked to brain her one myself, and requite those stupid kids a wake upwards call as well.Soon the anybody is going their separate ways, except Ayeka. She tries to tell Tenchi what has happened, but he acts like he is having a friendly telephone conversation instead.*(WARNING,SOME SPOILERS ARE Alee.DON"T READ UNLESS Yous Accept SEEN THE Prove)*We shortly detect that all this mess including Sakuya is caused by a vengeful girl, named Yugi. She wants to destroy the Juri family, for imprisoning her in a tomb and so many years ago. Washu discovers Sakuya is a fake, but Tenchi has already fallen in love her,(Yugi'south shadow).Feh,only like the love struck author wanted. They try to brand us experience deplorable for Sakuya,by revealing she has no parents and no retention of her life.Similar nosotros care? And then her friends she was then popular with, don't remember her at all. When Tenchi discovers just doesn't accept the truth,Yugi shows up earlier he tin can save her.She kills her and leaves Tenchi bawling, like a blubbering infant. This is what happens to many Mary Sueisms in bad fanfics. When they're likewise pretty, too popular,as well perfect and too many characters like them, they are killed off.And the characters commonly found in the TV show or a picture, are left crying and sad over that Mary Sueism's death. In this case, the author had people forget virtually her and had Tenchi crying about her instead.Forget virtually how it ends, because the series was pulled before Cartoon Network could complete it.Probably because so many fans were disgusted, and abhorred how the popular series was mutilated like that. And before I forget,*(END OF SPOILERS)*.Their are another things going on in the series I have questions virtually. Why did they give Ryoko a young man, that looks remarkably similar 1 of the characters from Hell Sing? That blond headed space pirate dude, with glasses looks beautiful. And what was upward with the beginnings of how they met?Did said author of this hellish fanfic, ever carp watching the kickoff and second series? Another movie I can call up of that'south like a fanfic,is the Inspector Gadget movie. This one has been skewered a bit too,it's not at all similar the series.I hope we don't take anymore bad fanfics get Telly shows, considering they suck. There are some fanfics I wouldn't mind seeing become TV shows,as long as it compliments the series and non ruin information technology.Avoid this defiled version of Tenchi, and stick with the other two serial.Watch this just to learn how you shouldn't write a fanfic.

Simply brilliant

The original series that launched 3 spin-offs and 3 movies, Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki is by far the choice of the bunch. Although the series spans several genres it is more than of a one-act at middle with its light hearted tone. This series perfectly encapsulates the whole Tenchi universe. Its art and animation is lush and gorgeous and the plot (or plots) is (are) relatively solid although the writers lose it occasionally after the showtime 6 episodes. Thrill-seekers may bemoan the absenteeism of heart-stopping moments in the action scenes but the series' truthful strength lies in its characters.

The characters are compelling and genuinely appealing with deep and well-developed personalities. Even the pipe organ-playing(!) villain is absurd! The grapheme interactions are seldom tiresome, oft beingness very funny and sometimes touching also. One drawback is that is unfinished. The plot kinda meandered towards the end but then a ton of new plot threads were introduced which weren't resolved making the serial seem incomplete.

Hopefully we'll run into more of this series (which has been hinted) in the hereafter simply for I heartedly recommend this series to anyone. Simply put, information technology is simply brilliant.

This along with Tenchi in Tokyo and the original OVA make an unforgettable emotional sensation. This method of anime was later generated, copied, and perfected into finest anime similar bebop etc.

But as a classic this series will remain the sweetest gem ever, which ending soundtrack always brings smiling to my face, warmth in my centre, and tear of happy memories

Solid and fun show, but watch the OAV first!!!

Warning: Spoilers

TENCHI UNIVERSE, also know as TENCHI TV is a solid retelling of the Tenchi saga, although it lacks the magic and spirit of the original OAV. It is saved, however, by some wonderful and touching moments, and a almost perfect ending. In between those moments are a lot of flaws though... Basically, I volition compare this testify to the OAV... Be aware, major spoilers are coming ahead... First of all, to those that aren't aware, TENCHI UNIVERSE is a "retelling" of the story told in the original OAV series. What this means is that we have the aforementioned bones characters (with the adddition of Mihoshi's partner, Kiyone, who does add a lot to the serial), the same basic personalities and conflicts, although with lots of picayune and significant changes. For starters, Washu is now the demon trapped in the Masaki Shrine instead of Ryoko, who is at present a space pirate being chased past Mihoshi who crash lands on earth. Ayeka'due south function is more or less the same, except that she's basically running abroad from her duties of a majestic wedlock.

Besides the slight changes in the characters backgrounds, at that place'south too the significant change that only Ayeka and Ryoko are actually after Tenchi (Mihoshi and her partner even motility abroad into an flat). In my opinion, this takes out a significant portion of the drama of the series, and makes Ayeka and Ryoko seem a chip more than petty. Kagato also goes through some major changes, both good and bad. While his new backstory is interesting, he'south not handled very well,is less sophisticated, and merely isn't as cool of a supreme baddies every bit he was in the OAV (he was SUCH a groovy villain in the OAV!). Every bit for the plot of the testify...well, there's certainly a lot more than to it than there was in the OAV, only unfortunately, TENCHI UNIVERSE feels VERY padded. The last couple episodes of the globe saga go nowhere, and eps 17-19 could have easily been tossed out and improved the show. Also, the "Time and Space Adventures" eps eleven-xiii are basically standalone, but I also think they're ane of the highlights of the testify (and a rare example of significant character development) and are worthwhile if one for Ryoko's touching moments in "her" world in eps 13. The biggest gene which makes this series inferior to the OAV though is the lack of grapheme development. To be honest, I'm really non sure who the creaters where making this series for, equally information technology shortcuts to much on grapheme introductions and growth to be worthwhile as an introduction to Tenchi (For God's sake, watch the OAV kickoff!!!), even so the boneheaded changes are sure to drive many Tenchi devotees crazy. My biggest complain of all is how little fourth dimension is devoted to character development. While the OAV may have lacked in plot, it was a graphic symbol driven evidence that devoted pregnant time and emotion to each graphic symbol (especially Washu, who sadly never gets beyond a caricature here). The change is Ryoko is the well-nigh dubious. Equally opposed to her 700-year-imprisonement in the OAV (which leads to a touching moment in which she remembers watching him grow up), this Ryoko doesn't get the set up-up she deserves to make style for her later touching moments. She basically falls into Tenchi's lap in the first moments of the evidence, and with no explanation, falls for him immediately. One of the best things about the OAV was how all the characters developed their affection for Tenchi, particularly Ryoko and Ayeka, who is also given less evolution hither. I just can't sympathise how a series twice as long every bit the OAV doesn't come close in its character development. The tone of the show is likewise a scrap off too. While the OAV was ever touching in some fashion, either in its humor, romance, or melodrama, there is a streak of melancholy that permeates TENCHI UNIVERSE. The difference is I watched the OAV with a grin on my face the whole time, whereas TENCHI UNIVERSE, while withal light and funny, just doesn't compare.

You may think in these comments that I didn't enjoy TENCHI UNVERSE. Well I did. It certainly had a lot of weaknesses, and was a long slog in places, but it had its virtues also. Start of all, Kiyone is an appealing and funny new graphic symbol, and her relationship with Mihoshi was a highlight of the show. The plot is certainly a lot clearer than the OAV as well. And, although nowhere most as affecting as the OAV, there were some very touching moments equally well. "No Need For Ryoko" in item was a highlight, possibly the saddest and almost tragic chapter in any of the Tenchi saga. Permit me merely say though, its robbed a bit by the fact that accepting Ryoko as "dead" is impossible to believe. Her terminal lines in the episode are truly touching though, and this is one of the few times in this series that we get to see her loneliness and depth of emotion. And then at that place's the final episode...to be honest, if not for the wonderful conclusion to this sage, I'd be borderline on a recommendation. But it'due south just and so...perfect. A nostalgic and surprisngly somber episode, information technology emotionally connects in a mode almost of the serial lacks. Just at that moment that hope seems lost...well, safe to say, the Tenchi saga always seems to end up at the same place, and Tenchi's final moments with Ryoko are truly touching (as is seeing everyone else on their way back!) In endmost, I'll too add together that this series makes a significant change in showing Tenchi's attitudes towards Ryoko. In the OAV, he never even remotely shows a preference for any of the women, simply in TENCHI UNIVERSE, the ending in particular makes him and Ryoko seem destined to be together. I certainly liked that, and to be honest, I wish this ended could exist transplanted to the OAV. Overall, for "Tenchi" fans, TENCHI UNIVERSE is fun and worthwhile, but realize its a definite step back from the OAV. And please, to those looking for a starting point in Tenchi watching, get the OAV! Y'all'll be introduced to ane of the most affecting groups of characters in Anime (or any genre, for that thing).

Could non go into this Tenchi serial at all.

I can not really score this particular series because I never watched it all the way through as I did the other ii shows. This one just did not grab me from the opening the manner the other shows did. The introduction, the story, everything was but a big disappointment. The blitheness was a step or 2 back as well. The story was just Tenchi going to collage or something and there is a girl in that location that is kind of into him, which is what ordinarily happens. This is a new character though and non the old standby coiffure who are also in this series, but are at times background characters. In that location is an evil entity afterward Tenchi and information technology is basically using the new girl, but what happens I take no clue as I only could not go across the first iv or 5 episodes. It just does not seem like the Tenchi we got to know in the original series or "Tenchi Universe" which Tenchi Universe was the highlight of all the shows and movies revolving around Tenchi. Like I said the characters seem off, they endeavour to difficult to be beautiful and the show for me was just i large disappointment.

My favorite anime!

The commencement fourth dimension I saw this series, I knew this was destined for greatness.

Equally far as I get, I don't really have a favorite graphic symbol, but I Practice have several favorite episodes!

I'm not even certain if anyone will hold with me, but the OVA and the series that followed (Tenchi Universe were absolutely great, which I can't say at all for tenchi In Tokyo.

This series is worthy of a 10 out of 10!

Archetype anime series

I never saw the Goggle box version(nevertheless). Simply you gotta love this one, this is ane of the best and peradventure the most influential and recognizable shows to come up out of Nihon, that when you ask people about anime, they would mention or refer to this. And sure this is shorter than the Television receiver serial, but this even so has the humor that fabricated information technology a hitting, and it without this, the Tenchi Universe series would never come out. Aye this is the ane that started it all, and for me, this is maybe Hiroki Hayashi'due south best next to El Hazard, a follow upward series. Excellent animation, colorful characters, and funny moments are in hither, I similar the ones with Ryo Oki, like the role when she goes to Ayeka and she goes screaming, that is classic, and I like the ane where Ayeka and Ryoko effort to get Tenchi'due south attention, and stop upwardly declining, and the part with Washuu, call me Little Washuu! Love that one. Recommended for fans of the serial, fans of Ranma and El Hazard and Beloved Hina, anime fans and non-anime fans. And after the last episode, 13 to be precise, don't think it's the cease however, because more of it is coming out, based on this one, non the Universe series.

My Beginning Beloved

Warning: Spoilers

Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki was the first anime series that I had watched ever in my life. The story centers basically around Tenchi Masaki, a 16 or so sometime boy in Japan, and the beloved triangle betwixt him, Ryoko, the "demon" ex-space pirate that Tenchi accidentally woke up and Aeka, the 1st princess of planet Jurai. The action of the series, unfortunatly only xiii i/ii episodes worth, is very captivating and it held my attention all the way through. Among the action of the series is a big vein of comedy that all of the characters show off at i fourth dimension or another. One of the funniest bits I've ever seen on television set is an exchange between the characters Washu (also spelled Washyu and Washuu) and Dr. Clay but I won't tell you what it is to avoid any spoilers. Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki is a show derived from manga (japanese comics)so if you read those you have a better sense of who is who with another generous dose of comedy and dear triangles grow. This is a very good serial and a definite must meet. Y'all will non exist dissapointed.

Possibly the greatest Tenchi Muyo! tv series...

I really liked Tenchi Muyo! Television set (aka Tenchi Universe). The plot was actually good and the characters were kept truthful to their counterparts in the OVA. One thing I didn't like is that there were a few characters that were basically ignored throughout the series only receiving one or two episodes to their name (namely Washu). The animation isn't as good as the OVA just it is definitely better than Shin Tenchi TV. This is a quality anime as well. I'd recommend this to anyone who even mentioned anime around me.

The best anime ever.

The Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA is maybe the best of the Tenchi Muyo! series. The blitheness is beautiful and the overall plots are good also. Merely i problem: They left the plot open up! Other than that, this is a great anime. Anyone can similar this series. Even my mom who despises anime absolutely loves Tenchi Muyo! It merely has wonderful characters and the english language seiyuu are great and fitting the grapheme which is so difficult to discover in dubbed anime. This is a great series.

Warning: Spoilers

all of the online reviews i have read regarding this series have been pretty vicious. y'all'd think they killed off all the principal characters rather than drawing them a little differently. you 'd retrieve they spouted things like "crewman moon says!" in squeaky fiddling voices. you lot'd recall tenchi's new girlfriend was a walking incarnation of evil rather than the near normal, sympathetic, non-self-centered girl the poor guy has ever met. frankly, i idea the outset TV series, known in the u.s. as tenchi universe, was the real disappointment. the characters that were previously so lovingly developed turned into barely watchable shadows of themselves. but i digress. hither again, we reinvent the back stories for all of the same familiar characters, and withal they current of air upward being more than or less the aforementioned people they were before. (take that, all of you who believe in "nurture" over "nature"!) and good on them for telling them all in i fell swoop in the heart of the serial rather than the tedious one-character-at-a-time method used in the first series. nosotros know who they are, and even if we didn't, we would have figured it out soon plenty. yes, some of the early episodes are exercises in silliness, only the series is more manga in tone, and so it is advisable that they seem a little 2-dimensional. besides, the writing redeems itself afterwards on with the most arguably circuitous situations and grapheme development. here, they take bucked tradition by creating a "bad guy" who isn't really so awful you can merely impale her off at the end. instead, our hero has to think with his heart, which is what he'due south always done best anyway. our other favorite characters likewise benefit from real, conceivable emotions. when ryuoko says "tenchi... i beloved you very much..." in her sleep, she says it with such simple honesty that you lot believe her passions for improve or worse afterwards on. kiyone seems to care near mihoshi rather than angrily resenting her stupidity. (and let's face it: regardless of the series, mihoshi is never the brightest crayon in the box) ayeka shows a little backbone rather than being a simpering wimp. sasami even manages to pull the plot forth rather than just being the little sister. washuu doesn't get developed quite too as in the ova, but she gets a few proficient lines. and again, i have to say something nice most sakuya: how could tenchi resist a girl who is a: beautiful, b: is unwaveringly polite, c: has plenty sense to bring him food when he's hungry, and d: never bashes, tortures, or mutilates tenchi or anyone else, and for that matter, never ever destroys his business firm. this is not to say i don't love the other girls and didn't root for them, but a worthy rival brings out the best in everyone. i cared near the characters, i cared almost the story, i didn't mind the art direction at all, and in the stop, i don't think you lot can ask much more than of a series.

I of the finest anime's ever....

When people run downwards the listing of archetype anime shows, Tenchi Muyo! is almost always overlooked. Why? simply because information technology was on Cartoon Network? because it doesn't feature heart stopping activity or deep philasophical bug? if so you demand to requite a look over because what the serial lacks in the above two things, it makes up for in one-act, drama and it'due south characters which is the heart of the series.

The story starts out simple, with Tenchi Masaki a typical teenager coming together a diversity of exotic space women who all fall for him on some level and live with him but grows more complex with the various relationships each graphic symbol has with one some other and how information technology'due south never the same thing through out.

The characters are amidst some of the nearly interesting I've ever seen in an anime. From information technology's star Tenchi to Ryoko to Aeka and Washu and others the bear witness introduces characters who e'er manage to surprise you in showing a dissimilar aspect of their personality or something yous didn't think they where capable This adds terrific depth to the characters and makes yous care about them a great bargain as they become more and more interesting with each episode.

The next thing that makes this show great is the mix of drama and comedy. Both are never overdone and when can coexsist at the same time without ever being goofy or annoyingly dramatic.

What else makes this a good anime is the extremely talented voice cast which for the about role is leaps and bounds ahead of the japanese bandage. From Washu's vocalisation to Ryoko who is one of the sexiest characters in anime based on her tone of vocalisation. Music is also top notch and is a must listen for any J-pop or anime song fan. Though a few tracks are pretty annoying.

In the finish, Tenchi Muyo! is a great series in the tradition of Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 and is not to be missed. At the very least it should be given a shot, you won't be disappointed.

What happened?!

Shin Tenchi TV is just bad. First of all, they changed character designs. They turned a perfect skillful plot into something that one might meet on Sailor Moon. They completely ruined this series with bad animation and goofy characters. Ryoko and Aeka were one time respectable characters merely at present they have turned them into fools simply as they have done with Kione. I'yard sorry, but I had high hopes for this series. And giving Tenchi a girlfriend is just bad news all the way around! The only thing that keeps me watching information technology that information technology IS funny and Ryoko is still a central character.

The all-time anime always

This is my favourite anime by far. Information technology has absolutely everything; romance, adventure, action, angst, etc, etc. The blitheness is breathtaking, much amend than the likes of DragonBall Z. There is nothing to dislike about the characters; after a while, y'all love each one of them. Merely my favourites are Washu and Ryoko, who are definitely the deepest characters out of them all.

10/10 every time. It's a shame that Tenchi in Tokyo had to stray so far.

My favorite of the Tenchi Muyo shows.

I enjoyed the get-go show in the Tenchi series a lot, but was very disappointed by the catastrophe which aired on the Drawing Network when they showed anime a whole lot. Information technology basically had Tenchi dueling with this arrogant prince and it was very anti-climatic not like a final episode at all. To this day I wonder if there were any episodes after that particular show though I am betting no. This prove simply lasted 26 episodes and while it was curt it played out very well and had a nice storyline to information technology compared to the starting time series which was kind of all over the place at times. This story almost had an "Outlaw Star" experience to it equally afterwards the initial introduction of the characters they commence on an ballsy space adventure as they try to clear their names and cease the plans of this one dude. This series had good comedy which is to be expected from a Tenchi serial it besides had expert action and some really good emotional scenes as sure characters announced to meet their cease. It too has a nice conclusion to it which is a vast comeback over the showtime series. They also take the same cast almost with the exception of a new partner from the ditsy blonde galaxy police officer of the offset testify, a more than intelligent member of the force, merely withal cute and a scrap attracted to Tenchi (aren't they all?). So for a dainty series that has an "Outlaw Star" feel to it, lookout man this evidence the best of the Tenchi shows for me.

Forgettable is all I take for this

Alert: Spoilers

While I'm biased since I don't like harem anime, I idea this was a formulaic series with nothing much special going for it. There's little to exist interested at here as well Ryo-ohki, who is a sweet and cute cat-rabbit animal with a personality and the starting time episode when compared to the rest of the episodes in the serial was okay. This also had some skilful music, though I disliked the dub, the actors sounded like they were just reading their lines and Ayeka'south vocalization sounded too sometime for her physical age. Information technology started off dandy and interesting until Ryoko came forth. I was interested in what will happen next merely in one case that grouch Ryoko came upwardly, the series started dropping the ball more and more. There is non much of a plot here and all information technology focuses on is silly comedy and melodrama.

Why is everyone all gaga for Tenchi? He's a bland average Joe grapheme, he'southward not that beautiful or handsome, he is whiny, dense, and an all-around forgettable grapheme. Sure he had an interesting story in the showtime episode but grapheme-wise, he'due south iffy.

The blitheness and designs evidence their historic period. Tenchi is supposed to be the guy the girls are hot for, yet he'south not even that hot, he but looks like a boring everyman grapheme. A lot of the animation is excessively goofy and at that place is a lot of exaggerated facial expressions for the sake of comedy, which I blame the decade information technology came out in for. I know that it fits the fashion of the show only I've seen some anime that came out around that time that had less stupidly poor goofy blitheness.

Bated from the infinite element, activeness, and a little mystery, information technology's not much different from your average harem anime. It's disappointing because in that location could've been more than plot and for a serial revolving around a bunch of quirky girls living with a guy, I was appalled past how much drama and crying in that location is in this show. It can jump from existence a romantic sitcom to a space opera melodrama and it simply didn't mix well. It'due south almost like it didn't know what it wanted to be.

Back to the characters, almost of them are just busy fighting over Tenchi and therefore, aren't that interesting. All of them are either crybabies, dense, bratty or all of the higher up. Sasami is the nicest one out of the whole cast simply fifty-fifty she turned out to be a Mary-Sue with her overly friendly attitude she has towards everyone. There was even one episode where she was crying over Mihoshi leaving only from what I've seen, they don't interact that much, they're not that close so why is she having such strong feelings near her leaving? She'due south similar what, 6-ix? And she cries too often in the series!

This series is so overrated and I don't become the entreatment of it. Watch something better like Wreck information technology Ralph or Road to Avonlea.
