Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas but as a mum, there is so very much to do.

Buy the presents, wrap the presents, organise the food for the day and all the celebrations in the lead up, get the house sorted for the holidays, decorations, make arrangements for going away…. oh the list goes on.

If there is a way or two that I can simplify the whole process and make more time for the fun stuff, I'm going to find it and take it.

One of those ways is using brown paper or craft paper for wrapping gifts.

Here's why I love it:

There's no running out of Christmas wrapping and having to battle the crowds at the last minute.
I wont be left with Christmas wrapping after Christmas. I'm not one to use the same wrapping theme two years running so this is a no no for me. Yes I theme my wrapping each year.
It's recyclable (make sure you get uncoated) and reasonably inexpensive compared to regular Christmas wrapping.

I use brown paper for wrapping gifts for all occasions and then just dress it up to suit the occasion.

This one uses pretty winter photos to decorate but if you want to be really clever, you could print a black and white photo of the gift recipient and use that instead of a card. (image source).

I must have a thing for white paint on brown paper but I just love how beautiful and simple it looks.

You wouldn't have to have any artistic skills for splashing a bit of paint on it and it looks so festive.

You could just line up all the presents, throw some paint at them, leave them to dry and voila… original artwork-wrapped gifts. (image source)

6 – Leaves + brown paper + string

This idea with brown paper is simple and beautiful.
